In love with that one pair of shoes you snagged for a steal? Spiritually invested in your oxfords or double-monks (the pair that got you through that life-changing interview)? Or do you just want to keep your white shoes clean?
At Kipper, we’re all about keeping things in tip-top shape, and we firmly believe in learning about how to take care of your belongings, so that they can last you twice as long.
Here’s a few kits to invest in when cleaning your shoes:
1.) Cleaning Your White Sneakers -- Snag a starter, cleaning kit from Jason Markk because this kit is no joke! It will make your white leather and even canvas shoes brand-spanking new, again. The kit makes it easy, and you’ll be glad you made such an affordable and worthy purchase. All the sneaker-heads out there will vouch for us!
Simply take the wooden brush, apply some of the premium liquid shoe cleaner, dip it in water, and scrub! Scrub around the sole, on the tongue of the shoe, and even slightly beneath the heel! Finally, wipe away all the dirt and grime and your shoe is good as new.
2.) Cleaning your Leather Double Monks, Oxfords, and etc. -- The best type of kits, like the one provided by Allen Edmonds, will come complete with brushes and polish for your leathers. Our favorite kits, are the ones that come with both black and brown polish, perfect for even your most dapper shoe collectors.
First, brush off the dirt and grime on your shoes with the brush in the kit. Next, wipe your leathers with a damp cloth and let it dry. Then, pick the appropriate polish and have at it! Black polish for your blacks, and brown polish for your browns. Remember, always let your shoes rest before applying the next coat of polish!
Use Jason and Markk Repel Sneaker Spray for your leathers too! Why not? We swear by it.
3.) Cleaning your Suede Everythings! -- There are kits made just for suede shoes and, we’ll be honest, we have more than a few of those too. But our favorite still has to be the very simple, and cost-efficient suede cleaning kit from Jason and Markk! Many other companies will say that there is more to cleaning suede than a brush and eraser, but take our word for it… All you really need is a brush and eraser.
Take your brush and swipe your suede shoes clean to lift all the dirt and dust. Then, take your eraser, and rub it on the marks and scratches until they disappear. It’s that easy.
