Barb Dybwad has enjoyed wearing many hats over the last decade and a half (what some might call a career on the internet), cutting her teeth initially as a web developer, followed by falling down a long rabbit hole as one of the first professional tech bloggers (back when dinosaurs and RSS feeds still roamed the Earth). She has built editorial teams and led digital strategy for AOL, Mashable, and Best Buy, as well as launching a 10,000-attendee national event series for Engadget and managing the brand’s takeover of the official Best of CES Awards. Her work has appeared in Forbes, Entrepreneur, CNN, ABC News, USA Today, and Yahoo News among others.

Barb is a musician, traveler, and aspiring philosopher whose home base can be described by the historical equation NY --> LA --> SF --> LA, and whose current location can best be gleaned from Instagram.

Halley, walking the runway at La Garconne Gala.

Growing up with a photographer as a father and a mother in the fashion industry, Halley has always had a passion and eye for art, design and everything menswear. Beginning her career at the flagship Nordstrom in downtown Seattle, she quickly transitioned into the role of men’s stylist. Halley has had experience wardrobing celebrities from Kidd Cudi, to pro athletes including personal shopping for New York Yankee, CC Sabathia. In October 2014, Halley made the decision to move to San Francisco to further pursue her career in menswear. This lead to the opportunity to run one of three GANT Rugger stores on the West Coast, as Store Manager of their Hayes Valley location. While in San Francisco, Halley has helped style for HBO’s Looking, working personally with their stylist Danny Glicker.

Halley also has a background in the culinary arts, having attended one of the top French Pastry and Baking programs in the country. For Halley, her sense of fashion is a lifestyle that encompasses art, food, style, design and so many other aspects within daily life. When not working you can find Halley brunching around the city, traveling domestically and abroad, or sunbathing in Dolores Park.

We are excited to have Halley on board to add creativity and inspiration to all that embodies Kipper Clothiers.

Hoisum Nguyen

Hoisum, Always dressed to the nines.

Hoisum, Always dressed to the nines.

Currently studying both English literature and pre-medical disciplines at the University of California, Berkeley, we like to think of Hoisum as an alchemist -- a snazzy one who, while dabbling in science-y things in the lab, is also bonding together timeless menswear with her own personal style.

At first glance, Hoisum's newly born style Instagram (@suturestyle) is about investigating powerful colors, textures, patterns, and modernity, but just like the rest of us at Kipper Clothiers, she's always hungry for the richness of quality and pleasure of self-expression. From double-monks and sneakers to wool topcoats and bomber jackets, Hoisum's collection of experiences in menswear stemmed first from the good old days in Southern California when she gave her skateboard a rest and opted to freshen up and become a young professional. With the aspiration of medical school on her mind and the love of art in everything she does, Hoisum refined her urban style, nurtured her tastes with ties and tweed, and kept spark of boldness and eagerness to learn. She worked with J. Crew in the summer of 2015, is now accomplishing style directing projects in San Francisco, and is now a member of the Kipper Clothiers team!

Hugo is the most punctual team member we have, always arriving two and a half hours early to ensure the stores safety. He greets everyone with a smile and a lick and is always dressed in his very best. Even though he gets caught sleeping on the job sometimes, he is still an integral part of our team. If you stop by on a weekday you will definitely get a chance to meet Hugo.

We are excited and eager for what's ahead for Kipper. Because of all your support as loyal and valued clients, we have been able to add these amazing new employees. Stop by and meet the team! As James Cash Penney once said, 'growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together.'
