Here at Kipper we are very excited getting the final preparations done for our Oscar Party. Whether you go to a friends or love hosting here are a few tips to get ready for a fun night on the red carpet!
The best Oscar parties start with a little planning. Who's invited? Prep your list so you know your numbers. Pick a few classy hor d'oeuvre's. We recommend doing a few that don't take a lot of prep time, you can save that for getting ready. A few of our favorites include: mini caprese salad skewers with balsamic, phyllo dough pinwheels with pesto and parmesan, and bacon wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese. All three of these recipes are simple and only take about 20-30 minutes to prepare.
For the decor - stick to the color scheme; black, white, gold, and red. Simple and elegant is always the best and easiest route. Find a red table clothe and set up a red carpet for your guest to arrive on in your entry way or hall leading to the party. If you have the right type of space you can also set up your red carpet with a backdrop for your Oscar party photo's!
Next come the drinks. You could go many directions depending on your preferences. We enjoy something classic and sophisticated to fit the event. A traditional Old Fashioned is great and easy to prep ahead of time if you are looking to spend less time behind the bar and more time mingling with your guests. Our next favorite drink for the Academy Awards is a French 75; champagne, gin, lemon, how can you go wrong?!
Finally, the most important part to your planning, your outfit! Wether you're putting together your most elegant cocktail attire, or going bold and breaking traditions with patterns and color here are a few of our favorite red carpet looks from the past few years..
We hope you are as excited as we our for this year's Academy Awards. We look forward to seeing pictures in your Oscar best, and make sure to stay tuned for our live Twitter of the Oscars from our party to yours!
