Fall Essentials: The Bay Area Coat Favorites

The fall and winter is a special time in the Bay Area, especially San Francisco. From saying “hi” to the chilly Golden Gate Bridge climber, Karl The Fog (@KarlTheFog), to grazing through the wet and tired (but hopeful) October streets of San Francisco’s Market and Financial district, Kipper Clothiers couldn’t be happier to pull out our favorite Bay Area coats to give them their seasonal runs!

Whether you’re a native or a visitor, there’s little denying the charm of duty and love of innovation that invigorates the styles of each person who roams the streets of the Bay Area. No matter where you are, there are always those few articles of clothing that remind you of the hilly city on the tip of a peninsula or the clock tower in the east bay, and we want to show you a few of our favorites that remind us of the Bay Area.

But more importantly: Do you know which coat your favorite is?

Check out these familiar pieces, how they’ve been iconic in the Bay Area, and what Kipper Clothiers pieces you can add to make it entirely your own!

1.) The Down Jacket (and Vest) -- Sometimes, especially in San Francisco, you have to go from the chilly streets into a warm building, before hitting the cold again to catch the subway. If you’re this kind of busy, and you travel a lot for work or school, these jackets are “go-to’s” for tons of people in the Bay Area. Warm, and yet stylish, it’s easy to slip on and off without compromising its urban charm.

2.) The Sherpa Denim Jacket -- The ultimate combo of Spring and Fall wear; this jacket is not meant for the office. But when you’re out looking for late night munchies, hiking on a local trail, or journeying towards your favorite coffee shop in the cold, then this jacket is perfect for nearly every situation. Wear this with Kipper Clothiers’ henleys and a beanie, and you’ll master the iconic Bay Area nomad who has a little bit of anarchy in their blood.

3.) The Bomber Jacket -- From the air force to the streets, bomber jackets in nylon, leather, and even suede, have made some of the biggest influences in urban style. Wear a nylon bomber casually with a pair of tattered, worn in, RAW denim from Kipper Clothiers’ casual line, or pair up a suede bomber with some suit pants, a tie and vest. The explorers of the city and of the abstract often sport these jackets; probably as a reminder to continue aviating boldly through life.
